Like Mother, Like Daughter

The relationship I have with my mom is similar to her relationship with her mom. We are loud, abrasive, impatient and often times rude to each other. My mom is like that with her mom and I hated it. But I am also like that with my mom. I often think my mom is crazy, naive, emotional and sometimes selfish. But when I really sit down and think about all her love for me and my sister, I think I am crazy, naive, emotional and selfish. And if I have a daughter, she will probably treat me like so.

The look on her face in this Polaroid pretty much sums up how she is and how I am when I am with my mom. But we love each other. Nobody can deny that our craziness and irrational sensibilities give us the courage to take risks that often seem foolish but also allowing us to accomplish things we only dreamed of.

Dear Diana Jou,

That is like me and my Mama. I want to see her arts and crafts.

Love,
